South Asia Outreach

With ongoing outbreaks of avian flu, Bangladesh, Nepal, India and Pakistan have been a focus of AI.COMM. In Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan, AI.COMM has conducted a series of workshops and training programs for animal and human health workers, local NGOs, and private partners including the poultry associations on risk communication and interpersonal communication to deliver information related to H5N1. In conjunction with the cross-border activities around Bangladesh/India, we have conducted social mobilization targeted to at-risk audiences in the poultry industry.  Most important, materials and messages have been designed and produced specific to the needs of each audience, and are based on best practices to prevent and contain the virus.
